About the Studio

A small New Hampshire studio, led by Dan, devoted to custom woodwork.

Continuum Craftsman LLC is a residential woodworking studio working with homeowners, interior designers, and builders across Southern New Hampshire. The studio is led by Dan, who is involved in every project from first conversation through installation.

The Studio

A continuum between design and craft.

The name Continuum reflects how we believe the best woodwork happens: as one continuous thread between the drawing on the page, the board on the bench, and the piece that will live in a home for decades. There is no design team passing files to a shop team passing instructions to an install crew. The same hands are on the work from beginning to end.

That continuity shows up everywhere. In the grain matched across a run of cabinet doors. In a reveal held to a steady sixteenth of an inch around a room. In a finish that deepens with time rather than wears off it. The work is meant to be lived with, not maintained around.

Led by Dan

One craftsman, responsible for the work.

Dan founded Continuum Craftsman to do the work the way he believes it should be done: drawn carefully, built carefully, installed carefully, and accountable to one set of hands. He leads every project end-to-end, from the first site visit through the final walkthrough, and partners with a small circle of trusted finishers and trades when a project calls for it.

Materials & Approach

The choices that show up in the finished work.

A short list of the things we think about most. None of them are unusual on their own. Together they describe how the studio works.

Grain
Boards selected and laid out for the way the room will read, not the way the lumber is stacked.
Joinery
Cut for the strength and longevity each piece deserves; mortise-and-tenon, dovetail, and engineered joinery where each is right.
Fit
Reveals, returns, and scribes resolved on-site so the woodwork meets the architecture honestly.
Finish
Hand-applied oil and wax, hardwax oils, and conversion finishes chosen for each project's use and feel.
Hardware
Specified to age in step with the wood. Solid brass, bronze, oil-rubbed, and steel where the design calls for it.
Coordination
Clear drawings, samples, and a calm schedule for designers, builders, and homeowners to plan around.
